Oct 6. 5:30-7:30 Fall Social Oct 6-7 Book Fair October 12 Picture Day Thank you students and families for a fantastic start to the school year! In Language Arts, we're practicing our routines for reading--- choosing good books, maintaining focus, jotting our thoughts as we read, keeping a reading notebook, and sharing with partners. Thank you for making sure that your student is completing 20+ minutes of reading at home each night as best as you can. Please let me know if you need any additional support with this. We have not started spelling groups yet. Math has included an introduction to multiplication. At this point in the year, we are thinking of multiplication as repeated addition. (Ex. 6 x 3 is 6+6+6) We have also been practicing skip-counting by 2's, 3's, 5's and 10's. In Social Studies, we have been researching continents together. When we finish this unit, we will switch to our Science unit Forces and Motion. Optional Practice at Home Here are few optional activities for students to try outside of school. We've learned how to access these through our Google Classroom. Some activities may require that students are logged into their school Google account.
