Newsletter2/10/2021 Math We are working on early fraction concepts including fractions on a number line and equivalent fractions. Two places online where we practice with fractions are Fog Stone Isle and Prodigy. Both of these can be accessed at home. Didax is a great website for modelling fractions. Our Ellicott 3rd Grade website has some links to math games for additional practice. Please see the document below for examples of what we are working on: Language Arts Social Studies We've been learning about the lives and accomplishments of many notable figures in our recognition of Black History Month. We've read books about Sojourner Truth, Frederick Douglas, Harriet Tubman, George Washington Carver, Bessie Coleman and Muhammed Ali. We listened to music and poetry from the Harlem Renaissance. We also watched videos/discussed Jesse Owens, Jackie Robinson, and the civil rights movement. Chromebooks I've been letting students take home their Chromebooks and they have been very responsible bringing them back to school charged and ready the next day. Many students have been using them to go on Epic Books or play math games such as Prodigy. If you don't want the Chromebook coming home for any reason, feel free to tell your child to leave it at school-- or send me an email/Remind message and I will tell them to leave it here. The only time they have to bring the Chromebook home is if there is a possibility of a snow day. Thanks, Mr. Campana ![]()
